God Family Republic

My name is John Watts and I am the Constitution Party candidate for Louisiana’s 5th District seat of The U.S. House of Representatives MAP.  I would like for you to take a few minutes to read what I have to say so that you can make a more informed selection on November 7th.

Abortion:

Pay attention to the candidates on this issue.  Mr. Alexander and Mrs. Hearn both contend they are Pro-Life then follow it with a conjunction such as - "I am pro-life, but... or I am pro-life, however...".  This is nothing more than political double speak.  Neither one has any intention of pursuing, initiating or signing any legislation that might save the lives of the unborn.  For example, When Rep. Ron Paul proposed H.R. 776, The Sanctity of Life Act of 2005, a bill "to provide that human life shall be deemed to exist from conception," there were only 5 cosponsors: Roscoe Bartlett, Ron Lewis, Charlie Norwood, Scott Garrett, and Jeff Miller.  If Mr. Alexander was indeed pro-life he would have added his name to the list.

I am the only person seeking this office that, when elected, is dedicated to eliminating the blight of abortion from our nation.  I would consider it an honor to join in the battle to save the lives of the unborn.  You can join in as well by voting for John Watts on November 7th.

The Constitution Party is the new party of choice for most people who consider themselves Christian.  You can read for yourself at http://www.constitutionparty.com/

There are many other issues that are pressing for most Americans including but not limited to ……

Supporting the right of Americans to keep and bear arms without government regulation.

I know that feeling in the pit of your stomach when politicians start talking about limiting your second amendment rights.  There are 3 treaties that will be coming up for vote in the near future that may well shred the second amendment.  Most people don’t know that a treaty can supersede the constitution.  You will never have to worry with me in office.

Stopping illegal immigration.

It’s sad that we have come to this point.  There are close to 20 million illegal immigrants in this country.  That’s 10 times what it was in 1985 when Congress gave amnesty to every illegal in the country at that time.  Doesn’t it seem odd that we have 130,000 troops stationed in Iraq trying to stabilize that government when our own boarders are being crossed with impunity and our economy is faltering?  I’m surprised at the people who have slept through this and are just now waking up.  I was writing letters to Congress 10 years ago and getting replies that basically said don’t worry or you’re blowing this out of proportion.  I and other concerned citizens were trying to get our Representatives to enforce the law then so that we wouldn’t be faced with this problem we have today.  This is an easy fix if only our Congress would enforce the existing laws.

Nominating and approving Judges who will faithfully follow the Constitution.

This is an important issue that every American should consider when electing anyone to Congress.  Most people believe that once a Judge is appointed that they serve in that capacity for life or they decide to retire.  Article III, Section 1 of the Constitution states in part that Judges”  … shall hold their Offices during good Behavior…” with that in mind Article III, Section 2 states in part “ … In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.”  This allows Congress by simple majority vote of both houses to remove from judicial review cases involving specific issues.  This was recently done in the Pledge Protection Act (H.R. 2389) voted on by the House July 19, 2006.  This will still have to be voted on by the Senate.

Protecting Americans and American jobs from outsourced labor and imported manufactured goods.

Every since NAFTA (North American Free Trade Alliance), GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) and CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement) our economy has been faltering.  Corporations are moving overseas for cheaper labor and shipping their products back to the U.S. for sale at the same old price.

Jobs at four to five times minimum wage are being replaced with jobs that are barely above minimum wage.  More and more it takes two people make a moderate living.

Ending unconstitutional Federal programs and runaway spending.

More and more our elected Representatives are passing or increasing funding for unconstitutional Federal programs that are driving us deeper in debt.  We are borrowing billions a day from China just to keep us afloat.  We must understand that this cannot continue.

Protecting private property from wrongful takings by state and local governments.

I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard that the Supreme Court had ruled the way it did in this case.  Our property rights are now dependent on the whims of the court unless we elect the right Representatives.

Supporting the unimpeded right of parents to provide for the education of their children in the manner they deem best, including home, private or religious.

I am the only candidate who embraces all of these issues.
